Faser (made in Poland) carbide lamp

    A miner’s lamp of Polish manufacture, turned up in the UK.

    Faser are still in business, supplying products to the mining and other industries, but acetylene lamps are no longer listed, battery lamps only now.

    Very well made, heavy gauge brass throughout.

    A Polish CCS member and contributor said this about my lamp,
    I Googled ‘Barbórka’ and found,

    Fuelled up with calcium carbide, water-drip reservoir half-filled.

    This is at ambient light level.

    These two photos are with camera exposure intentionally reduced to pick out the burner and flame pattern.

    Video. Here, exposure was reduced to distinguish the burner and flame, then suddenly restored to ambient light conditions.

    That's a really nice size comparison, and your Mk2 is in very good nick as well. :thumbup:
