Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can use to unblock a gas jet that doesn't have a pricker? I have tried some 0.16mm acupuncture needles, which were the narrowest I could find but they are too thick.

You could try a bristle off a wire brush.

Go to a music shop and try the thinnest guitar/mandolin string that they have. Steve.

Thanks Shed Man, but I am not hopeful. A quick look online suggests that the thinnest guitar string available is 8 gauge, which is thicker than my needles.

    Hi James,

    A couple of sources...
    PCB drills for example

    or machinist pin gauges here
(you can get them with handles).

or in your neck of the woods...
different size individual cleaning needles from Base Camp
or here (they are 0.32 mm or 0.012 in.)

Also, a good reason to save the cleaning needles from old unusable vapourisers.

Thanks Dan those pin gauges look interesting.

I did manage to unblock it in the end by rubbing one of my acupuncture pins between two pieces of sandpaper until it was thin enough to fit.

I'll check with base camp to see if they have anything better.
