Hello. We are trying to plan vacations and one of the possible destinations is Great Britain but during our summer is winter there. So, the question is: what is the better time to visit GB or, in other words, when not to go there at all. I mean because of the weather. Thank you very much. Juan
Juan, I think you're having a laugh! Temperature today in N.E. Scotland is much the same as it would be in late October.
Juan. This country is nice and green for a good reason. It rains a lot. Generally temperatures are better from May to Early October but it can be damp and miserable at any time. Like right now for instance which is mid summer and seriously wet everywhere. Temp is around 20c right now in here which is just about OK. In our winter it does not get as cold as it can in Europe. It can vary a lot but mostly we get above freezing daytime temperatures. ::Neil::
Yeh, I need one over here. We are on holiday in Holland with the caravan (?) but the kids sleep in the "voortent" ( don't know how you call the space in font of the crvn) which is now more or less flooded after a morning down pour.... But temp ain't bad.
In the UK we call it the 'awning'. I've got plants in troughs all along my front fence. In the summer I usually water them morning and evening. I don't think I've had to water them for about 6 weeks!
I am a member of a British camping forum. Apparently they are having a very wet and miserable summer at present.
Thank you to everybody. Vacations on Great Britain were cancelled (I was trying my wife to do this http://www.irtsociety.com/journeyDetail.php?id=38), but perhaps I'll visit London anyway, a couple of days, during the last week of September. Juan
This train voyage sounds wonderfull Juan! A bit to much for my poor wallet though ... We went to Devon and Cornwall (and London) for 11 days ourselfs, had some fine British weather (showers of rain , but sunshine for the last few days 8) . All in all, a good time and beautifull scenery! We'll be back I'm sure as there is so much more we'd like to visit and some places we'd like to go back to. Best regards, Wim
This was the main reason I couldn't convince my wife and also I have to add the plane tickets too. It will be for us when the children will be older: by now we travel all together and it would be too expensive.
