Colemans website has the new lanterns in stock currently for 98 ish USD and you can get 15 percent off with a coupon for email signups. I saw people previously were looking for these. I picked one up last year for black Friday.
Yes the 639C kerosene lantern’s are on sale at www.Coleman.com for $97.99 however you cannot get another 15% off as that only applies to “Full Price” items @ Coleman. Still $97.99 (plus tax) isn’t a bad price as free shipping is also included.
I just saw that, thank you for the correction. Last year the 15 off was including the sale price. Mine was 80 something shipped. Target also has the duel fuel lanterns with case for 40.19, it says free shipping but I haven't checked if it applies because of the size of those.
@Geronimo I have 3 NIB 639C from years ago they used to be $50 shipped on BF deals, in the weekend the 639C was $70 something plus tax and the one on target I paid $37 and some Pennies because I get an extra 15% off
I'd never get kind of price in my area. Whatever the model, new Coleman liquid fueled lanterns had always been very expensive in my location. Example, a new 639C kerosene-fueled lantern would cost around the equivalent of USD 250 to 260 per unit here at present. And that's only for a limited stock clearance offer. Apparently, that is some orders beyond the price range of what anyone here is willing to pay for a lantern. That's another reason why I could hardly see any older Coleman lamps in the wild here.
Not fair Begining to look like cant get anything from Coleman here in the UK, all liquid fuel lamps and stoves seem to have dried up and the few remaining in stock are at eye watering prices!.
In stock at Amazon UK - only £139 and 84 new pence and it is yours.. That's $168.29 for our American chums..
Coupon Code Bonus gives 30 percent off today. Free shipping, after tax my total was under 74 bucks. It's a gift to a family member.
I wonder if it is really cheaper to heat a room with a liquid fuel lamp or heater than an electric space heater. Problem is paraffin is expensive unless bought in bulk. Unleaded would be cheaper but I wouldn't fancy using it indoors.
Price of gas has come down a bit so maybe one of those ‘Super Ser’ heaters? Paraffin/kerosene will cause a lot of condensation cheaper to use gas to cook with as the price of leccy is so high : sorry this is off topic : apologies:
Yeah sorry the topic was moving onto lack of availability of lamps and high prices which I assume is down to the energy price crunch.
I think so, at least the unleaded labelling and packaging has been discontinued. It has basically been repackaged as the current 285 Dual Fuel.
I don't think it'd ever be cheaper than the electric means for domestic and indoor purposes. It'd only be possibly cheaper than electricity under the two following situations at present:- 1. You're living off the grid in some remote parts of the World. 2. You are living in a war-torn or politically unstable country where the electrical infrastructure has been partially or entirely disrupted.
Maybe it’s just mine, but I’ve found the new 639C has a hard time keeping enough heat against the generator unless blowing at full. I’ve tried a variety of the ‘variable’ settings and the thing runs poorly and flares. Also, I recognize that 2022 isn’t 1952 but man-oh-man is the build quality of the new ones inferior to the good old 242s etc. Just feels cheap, IMO.
