    Hello,

I have a pork pie fount and a cage from a guardsman. Trying to fit the cage on the pork pie but the "bolts" attached to the fount are slightly bent. What's the easiest way to get the cage attached?

    Thanks,
    Ross

    Gentle persuasion for best fit.
I have three, two of them have "splayed" studs, one parallel.

    Hi @Roscoe

    its as @Rangie says ..

i have found that gripping the end of each cage leg in the vice and carefully bending slightly has good results.. trial and error really

if you bend the brass thread it will probably leak when pressurised and you run the risk of snapping them

A few years ago someone here (Bob Bauer) used a block of wood and gentle persuasion (a rubber mallet) to flatten the outer edge of the pork pie tank, thereby causing the threaded studs to become upright.
