Had been fettling my second AGM 3705 lantern, this one not maroon, but a navy blue, same color as the one in Terry Marshes site. After checking all causes except a crack in the generato and using the largest mantle I had, the mantle would over run badly, checked the generator tip on my other lantern and the good running one had a smaller tip. I switched out the tip and lantern runs fine now, even the start circuit works on this one. With the generator removed, I do hear a little bubbling out of the valve, can live with that. The heat shields have a slight difference. Don't know how long the lantern will run with that air leak.

Running two hours now. Both have a very slight weep out of the spindle shaft. Guess if they are going to be used, will need to change out the graphite.
