Restoration of the Ditmar 506 is 95% complete. But came to service the NRV and it crumbled in my hands. Both metal parts have had it. It’s bigger than a Primus but smaller than a Bialaddin. I presume these aren’t available anymore? Worried this might be a donor pump tube situation. Any ideas anyone?
Looks like zinc plague to me, very sad! The sleeve from another lantern will not fit, since Ditmar used a left-hand thread (you might already see it on the photo). The outer thread is M10x1, which is larger than the Petromax style NRVs which have a M8x0.75 thread. So the only way would be to wait for a spare parts donor, or to build one yourself.
Zinc? I was wondering what it was. A solution could be: remove the pump tube and replace the bottom plate with a petromax one. Those size valves will still be around for some time. Maybe the complete pump tube may fit. Even if you find a donor lantern, who says the valve will be good? It is and always will be an odd size.

@Reinhard - That would be incredible, thank you. Happy to pay/swap or at least cover your costs. I’ll drop you a message. Very kind sir!!!
