I like this one: Fount means a source of something desirable such as a moral or psychological attribute or material supplies.

    Font vs fount

but according to the cambridge dictionary Fount can also mean typeface

    fount
    font

So I guess it is down to preference, but I always thought the same as Bruce.
Every day is a school day (school-day) here.. but not like my schooldays.

Tank is my preferred terminology, but I use "fount" sometimes when I need to speak American. I have seen "container" use used (Austramax).

    Cheers

A fun topic with lots of good comments-- I get a kick out of how the world trade language ( The Kings English) has so many variations-- on the west side of the pond a its a cars trunk- east side boot, hood--bonnet and my favorite hubcaps-- wheel embelishers! ~~~ also accents are fun. I was talking with a fellow from India on an order and he wanted to confirm my email address and he said "one dead Dog" I said WHAT??he said One Dead Dog"-- I said no- its woundeddog~~lol great fun!

Reminds me of the Texan who wanted to go to the Tutenkamen exhibition in London and the taxi driver took him to Tooting Common.
