Hello all, recently came into possession of a Prentiss Wabers 742-43. It has character and is beautiful in my eyes. My wife even fell in love with it because it reminded her of old studio ghibli movie/ her childhood growing up in Japan. This was my first GPA and I was beyond excited. If I was able to tone down my excitement, I would not be in a pickle I guess. Amist my fettling. I broke a brass fitting that surrounds/seals the cleaning lever (outside on the valve body) during reinstallation after a thorough cleaning. (Picture attached) Am I out of luck until I find another? These arent the most common lamps and I have heard rumors that coleman 200s parts are semi similar for this lantern. I'm hoping someone can provide more insight... I have scoured as much of the magic internet as possible, with no actual answer to my questions yet. - Am I better off waiting and finding a preway lantern for parts only? - Is there a Frankenstein part that will get me going at least? - Would it be more cost effective for a machinist to replicate this, rather than buy a different lantern. Thanks, - SendCoffee
Hi SendCoffee, i have been lookng at some Colman spare parts on ebay, i think that perhaps the Coleman 220, 228 series part for the pricker lever may get you going for the time being, there are some among the spares on ebay, regards Frank
