G'day New member, first time poster. Like many others, I'm having issues working out how to post pics. I've started collecting Coleman's, yesterday I picked up what I thought wasremains of a lamp something like a 427, I've been trying to find the standard Coleman sun logo and can't find it. It also has only a fill hole, unless the pump itself is also the fill hole? I have what I think is a 427 which I've been comparing it against and the generator is higher on the remains lamp. Once I work out how to post pics hopefully my message here will make sense pmsl
Welcome, @Gavin fry Look through here: Coleman LQ 327 (Canada, 3/26) If it has no identification on the tank, look also at the air tube of the burner to see if it is stamped with one or more patent numbers (which I can see but not read); and if there is a letter on the fibre wheel. That will help date the lamp. Cheers Tony
Thanks folks, much appreciate it. How do I confirm the green lantern is a 427? I'm only guessing it. Both generator stems? Are stamped patented may 6th, 1919
Your left lantern appears to be a 1922-23 L327 judging by the parts that are on it. Look closely at the fiber valve wheel. Can you see a letter indention? They can be tough to read. I would expect an A or B stamp on that one. The right lantern appears to be a mid-late 1927 L427. Should have a date stamp below the fill cap.
