House warming present and preheater alternative attempt

I was inspired by this post to give it a bash........ Living in Ireland any Tilley parts, seals, accessories etc. are prohibitively expensive. As soon as the parts come into the country the post office kidnap them and then hold them for ransom, Import duty VAT admin fee etc......so a parts bundle from Tilley costing £60 cost just shy of e100.

My daughter bought a house in a very remote rural area that is prone to power cuts, so I gave her this as a house warming present, which I fettled into life from an antique shop. I call it her Tilley kit, everything she needs for emergency light. It was in great shape so there was very little fettling, just seals. The hardest part was dealing with the post office.

I was inspired by twoberth's post on his home made preaheater to give it a bash myself, and here are the results.

... Stuga Cabana in Germany for one. Excellent outfit, have used them many a time.

Also if sourcing Tilley parts continues to be a problem and you have no real brand affiliation then consider Petromax/Geniol/Hipolito. A hugely versatile lantern.
