Top of the morning to all,

Received a Hipolito 250 and am looking for some advice. The lamp is in fair condition overall and has not run in a long while. 99% of all parts are present and original glass intact. Hood lid tied with a piece of wire and the hood squashed on the top. Cage a bit lopsided.

Gave it a quick wash down and rinsed the tank - lots of varnish. Same with the pump. pump cup was stone so replaced the cup with a fair old one from my 821. Removed the cage and checked movement of the pricker assembly and noticed that the pricker wire was protruding about 3mm but retracted enough not to be felt at the top. Pressurized thumb over the jet and did a dunk test - no leaks.

Started stripping - all peachy so far, Pink Martini playing in the background, Bialaddin quietly hissing away, a wee dram of the old stuff on hand and i drop my custom hollow ground flat blade down the pump tube to remove the NRV. Bloody hell!!! it was so close to Petromax i did not think to take a second look. What fangled tool do i need to remove the NRV (Part 127 - spanner)? Round with 2 flat sides and too deep to reach down with my long nose pliers - bad idea anyway. Anyone have dimensions so i can attempt to make a tool?

Anyway cleaned the vapourizer, preston loop clear, replaced the jet and needle with 250 parts(Petromax) - had 350 in there - and shortened the pricker rod by 3mm in order to get the needle to protrude by about .5mm

Looking at the diagram - link below - i seem to be missing the dished heat deflector that fits on the J tube above the gas chamber/ceramic nozzle. Mine had 2 nuts securing it to the inner cover. I dont even know if i understand what i am trying to say:shock:

As for the removal toll is appears as if a HT bolt of suitable size slotted 5mm will do the trick.

    Good Morning,
Made a tool from a old 14mm long allen key. Cut off the long side and cut a 5mm slot 8mm deep on one side. Drive the other side with a 14mm socket and 1/4"drive T bar. A wrap of insulation tape for just in case and it works a treat.
Ideas found on this site. Kudos to Tony and Phil.

Did not do much to the lamp apart from a wash and replacing seals and pip. Still have to fix the hood that got compressed on the top.

Stared with no fuss and runs a beautifully and might i say better than my 821. In the pictures below you can see her next to my go to Bialaddin 315 for comparison.
