I am about to have a rant, a scream may be a beer.

12 x 40mm glass chimneys have duly arrived at Men In Shed. A local Charity funded their purchases. From ordering them, paying and brining them to our Shed.

We ordered 12, why? spares and we know they will be a "slight" variation in sizes.
    But this amount is bad.

They range from 35mm to 44mm. The heights are all over the place.

    Only 4 are between 38mm and 42mm.

We might be able to tween some to fit, but to say i am shocked.

I have informed the charity of the issues and they are taking it up.

    Well, it is a bodge.

That his heat prove, fire prove, fuel prove and not fool prove Tape.

I use the tape in the fire industry, so i know it has some good points..

It is 0.3mm thick, so a few turns will help the ridge the smaller gaps.

Not perfect, but it means we can get the lamps onto the market.

    What do you expect?
These people do not know anything about lamps. One probably took out a chimney from the box, saw the others just look similar and took the dimensions (heck are these important ?).
Better go there with one of your lamps, show them what these cylinders are good fora and ask if they still have something like that stored away.
btw. you probably paid about 10 Pound each plus s&h I guess?

The charity will not disclose how much the paid for them.

Base Camp are having supply issues with 40mm. I did advise we can wait for them from Base camp. As I know he gets good stuff.

Up until 3 years ago a local old school hardware shop had all that I needed in stock. But they closed.
