Hi, OK not too sure how this happened but I was last here about 4 years ago...... OK I may have an idea what happened, I was distracted by Coleman lamps and camping stoves,,,,, then Trangia got in the way as well. But the news is good, I collected a Anchor 950 today (ok it came with a Coleman single mantel lamp as well, but we wont mention that) and I have already been fettling and found the valve at the bottom of the pump isn't opening to allow me to pressure up the lamp :-( Looks like I can get to it with a long screwdriver but not sure if this is a good idea? Currently having a soak with some WD40 and if that doesn't work maybe some carb cleaner before I get the screwdriver out. Sorry its been so long, what have I missed :-) Andy,
Welcome back Andy. There's a good chance that the rubber pip in the pump valve is shot. There are two ways to get at it, 1) use a screwdriver to remove the valve. 2) desolder the pump tube and access the pip with the valve in situ. Your choice. A good few hours days of reading.
Hi Henry! Ive ordered a fer bits along with a replacement valve that should resolve the issue,,, I hope. A few extra bits to make the lamp safe then its new mantle time and get pumping.... Watch out for the black smoke from the south east UK LOL
