I bought a 1931 Primus 1020, V on the bottom. I rather good shape, I was able to test it. Only thing was the pump leather , need to fix that. But the biggest surprise was the nrv, mind you, it worked fine, there was pressure and the nrv was tight. But look at my picture, there is no head to put the tool on in order to unscrew the nrv. Deep down there is a small hole, I took a bit copper tread, got it in the small hole and did feel pressure from a spring, like a normal nrv. Is this an unusual nrv or a broken one? Regards, Ton.
Having a closer look, both on my picture and into the pump shaft , could it be a flat six side nut we are looking at?
No, all pieces of the pump came out, only the leather was broken. But I see what you mean. Maybe I should have a closer look. As I said before, everything is working fine.
I think so too.. they couldn’t get it out after it fell off, so after finding it worked ok they just forgot it was there?
Everything ok now, the remains of an old pump came out. I made a very small but strong and long hook out of an old spoke from a bicycle wheel. I am happy! Ton.
A question about the age, this lamp has V14 on the bottom, V means 1931 but 14, would that point to the number of the week? Ton.
