Good morning. This is my acquisition, found at a flea market.
It looks as if it has been hanging in a stable for many years.
Since I don't have access to the catalogs yet (I will soon), I have a few questions.
Is it a type 827? (I think so based on the shape of the lighter button).
Can it be placed in some time frame based on some of the construction elements?
( no dating on the bottom of the tank)
What material can the tank be made of?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Weird that this doesn't have a date stamp on the bottom but it looks to be made no later than 1965 at the latest.

The matte nickel finish seems exclusive to the army variant at the time. I could be wrong but that's what I can guess at a glance with what I know.

Matt finish is indeed the ex army Bundeswehr, 500cp, version.
That is the Swiss army also had matt version but those are hybrides (250cp on a 500cp tank).
I am not sure why you ask for the tank material but besides war productions all Petromax lanetrns have a brass tank, hence they don't corrode.

As for your lantern: give it a soapy bath, clean the glass, fill her up and enjoy the light.
Check the inside of the tank for any debris but other then that these will run easy and without any problems.

Also don't forget the leak test in a bath full of water. Bubbles = leaks.

    @Dashwood , @WimVe . Thank you gentlemen.
This is the first time I have encountered the matte nickel finish. I am just beginning to gain knowledge of pressure lamps.
The question about the material of the tank came from here, the seller said it was steel, and I, after checking with a magnet at home ruled out steel and was a bit confused, I didn't want to do an uncovering by peeling off the coating.
Of course, after replacing the worn parts, I will do a leak test before firing it up.
If I encounter any problems, I will ask the gentlemen for help.
Hopefully I will be able to get it running and will share pictures with you.
    Greetings
    Stanisław

Whatever you do, do NOT polish it, you'll buff off the matte finish.

It's too big to be 827. Matte finish and that size is Model 829 Bundeswehr 500cp ::Neil::
