This is my Hipolito 250. It was found in Australia (thanks, Vic).

The only stamping on this lantern is the "250" stamped on the fount and on the vapouriser nipple. Other than that it has a Hipolito sticker on the tank.

@Mackburner considers this to be a late variant of the H201.

Bernie Holmes informs me that Hipolito lanterns and stoves were imported into Australia in the 1970s, 80s and 90s by Temmah Trading (Epping NSW).

As a 250cp-rated lantern, this is one very bright unit!

This lantern is the last variant of a real Hipolito 250cp before the H-201.
The Hipolito with the designation H-201 is clone of the Petromax 821.

The Hipolito 250cp version is like the AIDA 1250 the last well build European lantern.
This 250cp version without the rapid looks better in proportion then the AIDA, the rapid on a 250 or 150cp lantern is, for me, overkill.

The Hipolito 250cp differs from the Hipolito H-201 in all components.See pictures.

The Hipolito H-201 was also available with a nickel plated pressed-on hood cap.

Hey @Tony Press , these are a extremely well built lantern. I have one along with other Petromax/ Geniol / Hipolito incarnations but this version is by far the better built. Very thick castings and brass plate. They built these to last.

    Thanks, Martin.

The locknut did get turned around to the correct position when I re-assembled the lantern.

    Cheers
