    Hi Everyone,
I have to thank Chris @Fireexit1 and Terry @The Tilley Man for this one, my latest acquistion, a Hipolito 502.
Chris planted the seed, suggesting I needed a Petromax in my collection, and Terry for fulfilling the need when I found this Hipolito on his Ebay page. I'd already read up about Petromax and Hipolito to so was happy to buy this one.
The number on the bottom is 2068, which I decoded from other posts on the numbers, to be Week 20 1986 (happy to be corrected if wrong).
It didn't need much fettling, according to Terry's listing, he reckoned it had only been fired once, and on examination once it arrived, I could well believe, very clean and, well you can see the condition.
I checked the air gap, which measured 16mm, didn't touch it as I'd seen in other posts some had been as much as 19mm.
I had to adjust the needle, it protruded about an 1/8 of an inch, so corrected it before pumping it up to 2 on the gauge.
It held there for 2 1/2 hours before I did a dunk test, no leaks so very happy, and it fired up first time with a soft start using the pre-heater tray.
On a subsequent burn, I had some yellow flames, only needed the jet tightening, and runs beautifully.
    Hope you like it. Hipolito_1.JPG Hipolito_3.JPG Hipolito_4.JPG Hipolito_8.JPG Hipolito_9.JPG Hipolito_12.JPG Hipolito_18.JPG

Hipolito, a fine lantern. In my opinion sometimes better built than the Petromax.

Thanks every one, is certainly different to the Coleman, Tilley and Vapalux I've got, and definitely much brighter. Has a bit of a slow 'chuff' but still pleased.
