I made my Petromax 883 more user friendly by using the mica from a Primus 1001 and a 1960's Tilley lamp shade. At 138mm diameter, the Primus mica is 20mm too small for the shade base and it could do with being a little taller but it does the job of supporting the Tilley shade making the light easier on the eyes. versus
