At a garage sale I purchased an old tackle box full of lures. In with the lures were these. I think the lures were from the 40' s but I'm nut sure. Any idea on these?
Not sure of the date but they are most likely thoriated. They'll make lots of brite white lite but don't eat them, or walk around with in you pockets for that matter. Rick
I'm not sure either. The typeface for the Coleman logo look "middle-aged". I regret that I let my membership in the Coleman Collectors Club lapse (need to get to that), but they probably have a photo catalog of old mantles. Something to look into since they have great conventions!
There is a picture of that mantle packet here on CPL heres a link https://classicpressurelamps.com/index.php?threads/759 Unfortunately there is no date given. I also have to my ICCC membership back up your answer can probably be found there. A stab in the dark would leed me to think 1950s. Rick
Thats what they look like. You can use them, or there may be collectors who would buy them. There is no need to burn up old mantles to get that thorium brite white. Peerless 2C-HG mantles are fairly cheep and they are thoriated as well. Rick
I'v just been digging thruogh ICCC's Old coleman Paper and found your mantle packets shown in both 1948 and 1950 jobber cattologs. Rick
