Found a lamp that belonged to my parents in a barn that hasn't seen daylight in decades. I remember the lamp as a child but don't recall ever seeing it used. “Seems”like it had a milk glass shade but it’s nowhere to be found. Other than cobwebs and dust it seems solid. initial questions are, what can anyone tell me about this model, what does the original shade look like, what pump does it need, and is there a source for parts… etc etc id really like to see it running, tia, Briar edit: forum search turned up good info on shade and some history
A fine fettling project! A Coleman pump for a CQ., and it's siblings will do and the links below show pump topics. 9 lamp pumps. Lamp pumps
This is from AGM catalogue 32 which is about 1927 and shows the shades and parts. Any Coleman Quick-Lite generator such as Q77, Q99 or R55 will fit and work on this lamp and just about any make of lamp pump will fit the filler air stem. ::Neil::
Excellent information, thank you both!! a quick search for shades gives me the impression they’re unicorns… understandably i guess but ugh. I’ve looked again, the one that was with it, is no where to be found. Of course
Sometimes pressure lamp shades are fitted to wick oil lamps, second hand stores and antique shops and markets and auctions etc., are good places to find shades and lamps.
