Thanks @ROBBO55 it was a fun project. It now becomes the decision as to which one of them goes with the wife and I to Yosemite in June.

Sorry it's been a bit... Been working on a few other things (mainly an old sears stove for my Dad) but a few other odd notes regarding the pump on the 427 quick lite....

Who knew that the pump leather was a different size and didn't tell me haha. I feel like I missed a staff meeting...

I had pulled out a rather hard and crumbling leather from my pump so I said to myself "don't all Colemans use the same size pump leather?" Well the short answer is no...and I found out the hard way. As I pumped up my new lantern every once in a while the leather would pop off the stem and get stuck in the tube. I would get it out and reinstall it but after I wore it out I said there must be something wrong.... Yeah so apparently old Coleman parts sells a completely different leather cup for a 427... It's not under quick lite... It's under 427... Well I bought one and yesterday it arrived just in time. I've not had an issue since and the lantern is "good" for now. I don't like the cage because it wobbles a little bit (it's previous owner must have bent it and tried straightening it out by brute force) so.... today or tomorrow a new cage arrives for the 427.
That being said I'm now starting to slow down and got new plans for a trip with the wife to Yosemite national park and deciding on which stoves and lanterns are going with us. We go in June so I'll take photos but for sure I'm traveling with one of these quick lites... Just not sure which.

Thanks for all the interest and help! I really enjoyed this one and like this forum a lot. I was a stove guy mainly and now I have way too many lanterns and table lamps haha....I may try a Tilly (don't even know anything about them so don't know where to start)

Well you have ended up with three really good looking and working lanterns. And had fun and learned a few things along the way. Hard to find fault in any of that
Tilleys are a little different - and I think most are simpler to work on/restore/operate - and they are all kerosene fueled.

@Fireexit1 can you give me some common models of Tilley lanterns? My luck is I will pick one that is hard to get parts for haha
