Hi all, below are the pictures of my fettling. the lamp arrive damaged, bent over at 90 degrees on the air intake tube which I managed to save and straighten and use after cleaning. It working ok but will get better mantles. its great to bring back to life a 95 year old lamp dated 8 9 wich mean August 1929. Enjoy
Well done. If you'll replace that air tube it will fix your running issue I'm certain. If the generator is too far into the air tube it will cause it's own air restriction. Also if it's not in far enough it, the air entering around it will cause issues as well. Luckily it's a common piece, same air tube used on the 220/228B lanterns.
Hey Toby, thanks for the tips. I didn't know the air intake tube was common to other lanterns. I'll get a replacement to make the lamp run really well and strong.
Welcome to CPL @Webbo It's cleaned up nicely and fine work getting it running. I like all the detailed photos.
