I purchased this from eBay more than a year ago, not knowing exactly what it was but it looked interesting and it didn't cost much so I nabbed it. I didn't think much about it and apart from looking a bit like a Coleman (it was described as being 'possibly a Coleman') all I did was clean it up, after which I kind of forgot about it!

Fast forward to yesterday and while chatting to Norman and AussiePete, Pete tentatively ID'd it as coming either from a Veritas Nova or a Nulite Storm King 100 as the latter was rebadged and sold in the UK under the Veritas brand name until they started to produce their own models, starting (potentially) with the P9955.

Anyhow, I've had a good look at Pete's Nova and Titoo's Nulite Storm King and it does look extremely similar. The tank on my as yet unidentified lantern is brass with a steel base, which is in very good shape. The tank is nickel plated and has a few dings and dents but nothing too serious. It has a separate central stud and an off-set control valve with a red fibre wheel.

I wondered if any later Veritas parts would fit and while they're close, it's not a perfect match by any means as you'll see...

The hole in the frame for the generator is misaligned.

It's hard to see, but the collar is just a fraction too narrow, allowing the frame to wobble.

It doesn't look bad but it's not going to stay like this. I will try to find parts to complete it but knowing the rarity of the Veritas Nova, it could be a very very long wait indeed.

Anyway, it seems like I've got a rare fount although what I'm going to do with it, I simply don't know! Of course, if anyone has any Nova/Nulite parts laying just around, I'm all ears... but don't all shout at once!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

OMG, I absolutely love those Teroso glass shades! If only I could go back in time.

So my lantern fount could be Nulite, Teroso, Veritas or Hunters!

Maybe, but the bottom of the tank is not the same...

...plus the control valve wheel on mine is red and fixed differently as is the control valve rod which is joined on the Hunter.
