AGM 3470 Lantern

This is my AGM 3470 500 CP lantern. I haven't been able to run this lantern mostly due to the generator was shot. Fortunately 2 3470 generators came available on the bay of evil. Yep as you can already guess I installed one of the new generators and this lantern is a dark chaser that's for sure. Here's some pictures for you guys to enjoy. Cheers

Preheating with alcohol, is it a kerosene lantern?

Yes this is a kerosene lantern.

I've done a few Frankies using the upper section of an AGM 3016 lantern and most of the time the preheater side of the control valve doesn't work so I will use a preheater cup. The reason I will use the upper section of the lantern is because the fuel tank/fount has stress cracks which unfortunately very common with AGM.

Thanks Norman, it's hard to distinguish which fuel American lanterns use by general appearance.

 

Nice lantern.
Mine was full of stress cracks and received a Caswell treatment.

 

Would be nice if a photo was taken of the lantern not lit as it can’t be seen with it lit, too bright to see features.
