I think I know who I was bidding against now!

It was just up the road from me but hey-ho.

Sorry, don't know the paint code but a nice looking lamp.

    All the best

Hi Brian sorry i got it i, have been after one of these for a while for a reasonable price, this model is my favourite of all Bialaddin storm lanterns, and they usualy fetch a realy good price.

I have some ideas of paint to use i was thinking of useing, one choice was LNER crimson red enammel from pheonix precision paints they specialise in model livery colours.
But i was thinking of a aerosol car spray of a good match,as it is quick drying and gives good sheen and is quite tough

    No problems at all. ;)

A car paint place should be able to get something pretty close and mix it up into a spray can.

I picked a similar one up and want to keep it original so I was looking for another to polish etc.

    The search goes on!

There was a brass capped version of the 300X I believe, and I have had some good quality brass hoods spun if you fancied making the lamp an all brass version. The steel caps are always the first part to get tatty. I have a post in the Trading section. Steve.

Hi Brian and Steve i have decided on a car spray, rather than a maroon enammel,i will good look around for the closest match possible.
I will have a look in the trading post, at your brass caps Steve,I have seen the caps and hood tops in worse condition before, it is such a shame these are the first to go,i realy like the plaited or brass hoods on lanterns with the top cap enammeled it realy set the lantern off.
It is a pity it is way to expensive having these parts re enammeled
