Hi everybody, I've been wondering if I have all the internal parts for my Montgomery Wards, Nagel-Chase Lamp. Had anybody had success getting schematics by looking up origional Pattants?
A patent is an idea and won't show you what the manufactured parts will be. Give us a model number or picture of the lamp and I don't doubt we can help. Most NC lamps have complex internal parts inside the generator which look like this. BUT Wards also sold a Superlite lamp which has a generator without a pricker and just packed with asbestos in the same manner as a Coleman Quick-Lite. ::Neil::
It's a. Hollow wire NC. It's been really hard to find pictures or anything of one that has 2 of these 2 burners
I think it's basicly this from about 1915 but I can't find an example in any of my paper from 1912 to 1930 without the fancy scrollwork. ::Neil::
Thanks for sending that along Neill! It's possible the scrollwork was on it at one point. The fittings where the scroll work would attach look like something that was put on at the factory the rest of it looks the same though.
@Nagel , I'm sorry to inform you that Neil might not be in the best of health at the moment to reply on your enquiry. If you are not alrrady aware, he had recently been diagnosed of stage 4 cancer as mentioned here:- Mackburner
