I have one of these too, a well made, heavy lantern. Not much known about this brand.

    Hi Alan,

the company Julius Pintsch is a very old company that still exists today!

    Julius Pintsch AG – Wikipedia

After the Second World War, they manufactured everything the market needed.

In 1948, the subsidiary Pintsch Elektro GmbH Konstanz was founded.

Pressure lamps were also manufactured here! The production of pressure lamps ended in 1958 when Telefunken GmbH took over the electrical division.
In addition to the Petro-Pintsch brand, Pintsch Konstanz also carried the brands Dalite, Day-Lite, Picostar, Kerolight, Kero-Pintsch, Kero-Star and perhaps even more brands.
The Day-Lite and Picostar brands were then taken over by the Hamburg-based company Meyer & Niss in 1960.
Meyer & Niss manufactured these pressure lamps until 1973, when the company was dissolved.

    Greetings
    Jörg

Hello @Jörg Wekenmann Thank you for all the information - that confirms some gaps for me. I've had Day-lite and Picostar lanterns from time to time, and they never seemed to quite match the quality of Petro-Pintsch, so they may have been later versions made by M&N. Regards - Alan
