    Humour. In reality, having had the blockage enter the jet with gas pressure propelling it, it seems unlikely that sucking on the jet could draw sufficient air in any useful volume or pressure through the jet orifice (typically 0.23mm on butane stoves, smaller on lamps) to dislodge the debris.

    Nice instructions there John but yes a rum do..
    all gassie jets ive ever handled seem to have an almost invisible hole, very tiny?
    maybe my trip to specsavers recently may have improved matters on that front .. hmm :-k

    the images of the fishing lamp look interesting as well??

    thanks

    Sore point, Tim. I have one of those somewhere but have mislaid it, most likely languishing in the back of the garage.

    @podbros
    I found the ‘Fishermans/Sitelamp’. The fuel source is a small Campingaz refillable cylinder.

    Thanks again John :thumbup:

    another first for me..definitely haven’t seen one before which is surprising as (potentially?) it looks to be a portable gassie successor to a Tilley handlamp?

    maybe paraffin was a lot cheaper than gas at the time?

    thanks
