Hi all, Couple of questions. I had leaking from the carburator valve that is screwed into lower carburator part. (It was shooting kerosene out while preheating the lamp, even with almost no pressure). There's a valve rod that pushes down onto the valve. It's a special design It's a small rubber piston with a hole that I simply turned around because I have not seen spare part. Now the question: is there some adjustment for the length of the rod so when I turn the eccentric valve that opens the carburator it works as it should? In case I can't find replacement carburator jet, is there a way to see if it's OK and if not can the hole be "fixed" or made smaller? Any suggestions or tweaking is extremely welcomed ThaNks

Thanks for replying, I figured out that both parts of the rod(s) are for adjustment, upper for needle, lower for valve. I was wondering, how much should the "tip" be above the carburator valve? Thanks for the tip on resizing the tip with hypodermic needle. Challenging PS. The jet for Butterfly doesn't seem to fit mine, I think it's earlier version then what is available, see photo My version on left, Official Butterfly replacement on the right. The left jet and needle are from a pre-war Aida lantern, e. g. type 214. I cannot imagine why/how they were fitted to the Butterfly. The thread on the vaporizer must have been re-cut and the rod modified to achieve this. The parts on the right should be correct for a original lantern.
@Martin K. Wow that's some interesting news... For pre-war lamp, she's in excellent condition. The bad news is, good luck with finding parts. Probably zero. BTW I saw another Butterfly lamp just like mine with same square nut on second hand site. I suppose if I re-threaded the the vaporizer and found an adapter for the rod to fit the needle I should be OK ... There's another annoying thing...the valve that let's fuel in has a rubber gasket that just sits on spring. Nothing like parts for Butterfly... Thanks all for helping

Or rather how much should the rod push on the valve? when I turn the wheel to 6 o'clock it let's fuel in the carb tube.
The simple answer is, far enough for the rubber gasket to seal the opening and stop fuel from entering the carb tube but not too far, otherwise the valve won't open and let fuel through when the wheel is at 6 o'clock.
