It looks to be a nulite 110m. The small tube with the upside down cup ( generator ?) Got bent in shipping and its missing the porcelain parts you put the mantles on. Can you get parts?

Ouch, that's quite a kink. :rage:

Nice early lamp and should clean up nicely.

A replacement should be available in the US or there may be another generator that will fit it, I'll need to pull mine off when I get home and see.

Haven't seen the porcelain burner caps before, I wonder if the newer style one piece cap/tube is the same thread.

Thanks! The cap looks porcelain but it might not be. Tube is threaded on both ends.

Where would you find parts like this?

Keep a watch on Ebay, but it's often a matter of obtaining a few lamps to make a working lamp, but you could make a start on cleaning up that lamp and Coleman burner tubes may fit, the new tubes come with end caps and gauzes.

I think that they can be obtained from Old Coleman Parts, but perhaps some of the other American collectors will know of other sources.

An easier lamp to obtain parts for is the Coleman CQ., and there are many of those lamps listed on Ebay and R-55 generators can be used on them and they are still available.

You can get new mantle tubes and caps from Coleman and they will fit this lamp and work well. You can possibly fettle that generator as well. Heat and quench it then drill out the packing from both ends so you only have the kink part still filled. Then with a little luck you can re shape the kink to near enough straight again. Finish the reshape by driving a suitably sized rod down the tube which will round it off and remove the last of the filling. Ideally you then re stuff the tube with asbestos but glass fibre will do. ::Neil::

I am not sure the fitter is the same thread. Might be and it is worth a try. ::Neil::

This generator is about the same length as e.g. the R55 or Q99, but the nut is different.
Coleman has a male nut while the Nulite uses a female.
And the sealing taper is also "mirrored", so to speak.

Just remember that after every bending or reshaping operation you need to heat and quench to anneal the brass. That is EVERY time mind. The first time you forget is the time you will break or crack the tube. ::Neil::

I heat it with a torch until its very hot then dunk it in water. Then drill and reshape. Then reheat and dunk. Repack with glass? Is this fiberglass?

Yes glass fibre or Fiberglass. The original packing is asbestos but that is hard to find now. I do have some here but I think it is a banned substance by the postal trolls here. ::Neil::

1349481280-1349480680-picsay.jpg I made some progress today. Once I started heating the tube it seamed to straighten out some. So I did it a few time and with a little work I think it will be fine. What do you think?

That's looking pretty good to me. Nothing like a lamp that makes you work for it

Brasso does wonders. It takes most stuff off. Then I have a buffing wheel and compound.

Now I need a gasket for the cap and a burner. Then it should run
