Did colemans have an aluminuim ventilator at all?

    Saw this in an antique shop.
    I suspect it's been messed around with, but thought I would check in here.
    Presumably it's a 249, but so rusty I can't make anything out on it.
    I'm guessing that this ventilator has been taken off another lantern of unknown manufacturer?

    Yep. 243B a few of them lurking here in NZ. Supposed to be a budget version of the 242B but apart from the aluminum vent and steel collar nothing budget about it.

    The wonderful thing about aluminum is that it's a very soft metal. Someone who normally works on classic car auto bodies and motorcycles can easily hammer it back into shape. You can easily work out the scuffs too.

    No preheater cup on this one. Would have to see the other side to identify. I.E any control valve?
