The original glasses would most likely have had a logo on them, but replacement glasses may not have.
At least it "should" have a schoot glass mark. And the the E&G trade mark logo. But should is a questionable question. The lantern should have a globe marked or not.
I don't know if they were 'stamped' or etched. Not sure what you mean by 'stamped' here, @Jean J . But most original globes are marked with the brand Petromax and E&G(or G only) logo together with the globe maker's name/marking and logo (Schott; with mostly Jenaer..Duran or Suprax Glas) on the opposite side. Also, the marking 'Made in Germany'. As @WimVe said, the word 'should' is questionable. To me, the original Petromax 826 usually came with glass globes that has been marked, whether or not they 'should' be stamped.
Oops typo: I mean Schott as a glass manufaturer. For the rest: I rather use a lantern with a cheap unmarked glass the a (rare) marked glass. They tend to break.
I came home with 2 Bialaddins, a Petromax and an Optimus all without globes. Attached a pic of the globes that were packed in with the 182 globes. The two at the back are unmarked and have a price sticker showing they were bought in Zimbabwe, one is etched with the word Flamrex and the other has a green logo for Eye Brand. The one at the front is a Bialaddin. Also have 2 Coleman 237s, one has a badly damaged globe.
Popping on here wondering if the coleman 288 glass that does fit the Petromax 827 hold up well? the 288's seem just a tad smaller...
@a10egress Are you sure you have the right Petromax model number ? Coleman 288 = 4 3/8 inches tall x 4 1/4 inches diameter. Petromax 827 (250 cp) = 4 1/8 x 3 1/2. The glass from a Petromax 829 (500 cp) 1/8 inch taller than the 288 glass but this is not significant and the glasses are interchangeable. Henry.
Good morning @German You can buy glass for your Petromax 250 cp here. www.Hytta.de Detailseite: Ersatzteil- und Zubehörliste Petromax 250 HK (74) Glass cylinder - 250 HP · clear, Schott Suprax old logo. Tom
The price tag R is for Rand which is South Africa currency. The small amount shows it was quite a few years ago.
