I just picked this up. Brought it home and put on an old mantle from around then. Later I will fire it up.

I do have one question, will this run on Coleman fuel as well as unleaded?

absolutely it will run on Coleman. You SHOULD only run it on Coleman if at all possible.

You might want to consider switching it out to a better running double mantle Coleman 220 configuraton too if you have a spare 220 frame lying around.

It will work much better & be much brighter with a built in cleaning needle too.

Lit it up! The old mantle ran great.

Nice one. I mostly don't like these much because they are tricky to fire up and not as good looking as other contemporary lamps. They do have their fans though and in good order can work well. ::Neil::

It is much brighter than I through it would be. I am using an old mantle on it. I am not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I am also surprised how load it is. It sounds like a petromax.
