    I just fired this up yesterday, ran fine the first try, then when started later, flared real bad even with the generator heated some with a propane torch, then tried a new generator with same results. Same again twice today with the old generator back on. With the fuel emptied and finger over the generator tip, no leak around the tip when dunked in water. Ideas?
    Two of my other Kamplites have the short mantle and one has a long mantle that would keep the generator hot better.

    A longer and more bulbous mantle may cure the problem.

    May go that route. Funny, worked fine yesterday as do a couple other of my Kamplites with the short mantle.

    Well, a longer mantle worked, even fired it up without the use of a propane torch, flared only a little briefly. Used one of my few 24-A mantles that I have left.
    Funny, two of my other Kamplites have a note saying they flare some, they also have short mantles.

    That's good news.:thumbup::thumbup:
    In the previous image the bottom of the mantle is some distance from the vapouriser / generator, which means that the vapouriser does not get hot enough to properly vapourise the fuel, hence the flaring.
    I have had that problem with some Coleman lanterns and I cured it by fitting a large bulbous mantle to each of those lanterns.

    When I originally fired this up and it ran fine, was wondering about the mantle position so far above the genny.
