This is a Kayen HL7 table lamp made and marketed by W Kopsen of Sydney. For those new to Australian Kayen lamps and lanterns, they are direct copies of Tilley, made from late 1944 to early 1950s. In the photos below I have fitted it with TS Nettlefold teardrop glass and a Kayen shade. The vapouriser is Kayen, as is the burner, gallery, and top and bottom insects screens, all of which came with the lamp. “B7” stamped on the steel of the vapouriser. Lower insect screen is brass, with steel tube to fit over the vapouriser, but a brass clip. This Kayen burner has a fixed spigot that is slightly narrower in internal diameter than a Tilley. It also has a dent in the mixing tube, but runs very well. “Kopsen” Up and running Great lamp! Tony
The handle (central column) is brass but has been treated with something, and was that colour when I got the lamp. I left it as is. Cheers Tony
