Just got this sealed up, had a few stress cracks. Genny and the fuel pickup looked brand new, wonder if it had even been fired up before I got. Very different than other lanterns. Has an adjustment to the air supply depending whether using white gas or kero/paraffin. All I did in the way of a fettle was rinse the fount out with acetone, add a little oil to the pump cup and add a new fuel cap gasket. A previous owner must have waxed the vent as it quickly crazed when the lantern was lit.

Nice lantern. I wish you good fortune in repairing the crack.

I really like the concept of truly multiple fuel options by simply selecting the air flow. I would be interested in knowing if it works with both fuels, and if both provide good service. What a clever design.

    thanks for the pictures

I did a naked burn with Coleman Fuel, before switching to kerosene/paraffin for longer runs. Unfortunately the original globe got scorched, instead of whiteish discoloration, it was more brown. No hole in the mantle, that whole side looked scorched. Too hot with kero?
Tested if POR-15 on some excess Caswell would stick, looked good, so rolled some POR-15 around in the fount.
