After recently obtaining an FL6 with a bottom like a colander (since fixed) another has come in for repair - leaky bottom. I have removed the bottom and can now see areas which were not soldered properly (bad previous repair). Interestingly the pressure indicator is in bits too.

will you be repairing the pressure gauge at all? i suppose it would leak otherwise??

probably easier to plate over the leaky base now it’s removed ?

it is interesting to see the hidden workings etc

I will probably end up blanking off the pressure indicator. The base was leaking from the soldered joint, so I will clean up the surfaces and re-solder.

Why? If you can solder the baseplate back into the tank, surely you can solder the two parts of the pressur indicator back together.
