This lantern was a gift from a friend of mine, did the seals and generator, also had to replace preheater dish as well as it was missing, hadn't been used for years and as you can see not very pretty on the outside. Fount was clean however and fired up very easily and runs well.
Going to leave it in it's 'patinated' state.

Hi Jean, 12 1/2 inches including about 1/2 inch of parts safe at the bottom, which is the black band you can see around the base.

Thanks Tim, not one that I’ve ever come across. I love these wee Coleman lanterns.

Yes, smaller than my 220J and 228J.
According to the Coleman 'Bible' they were made between 1974 and 1984, replacing the Model 237/237A.
Mine is the Model 201-700 with the ventilator and fount in green, the other version they did was Model 201-720 with a red ventilator and chrome plated fount.
If you have an interest in Coleman products, I recommend getting the 'Guide to Vintage Coleman Products' from the ICCC, it's a bit pricey but well worth it.
The level of detail on the variations to the different models, whether its lanterns or stoves, is incredible, I've only got 5 Colemans (3 lanterns and 2 stoves), but it helped me to know what I was looking at and what to look for.

I’m so embarrassed @Tim Read! Having said I’d never come across one, went out to the pig hoosie this morning and almost the first thing I noticed up on a shelf was - yes, you’ve guessed it, a Coleman 201. I can’t remember where or when I bought it. It’s in lovely condition. Think I may ask my son in the US for a belated Christmas present and get that Coleman book but then I’ll just hanker after owning more models.

 @Jean J , been there done that with other things:lol:.
Yes, your's is in much better condition than mine, the important thing is it works:)
The only problem with that book is 'I want that' syndrome, you'll want everything in it, lanterns and stoves:lol:.
Apart from the 201, my other Coleman gear is a 4/78 220J, a 10/78 228J and two stoves, a 9/83 400 and an 8/68 426D 3 burner suitcase stove, with propane adaptor, all working very well.
Also have some British stuff too, my main problem is space for everything, so have to be very selective in what I acquire.
