This is a NOS Akron generator with pricker. The pricker was in the packet with the generator. The pricker wire is 0.15mm (5.91 thousandths of an inch). DIRECTIONS FOR CLEANING GENERATOR The generator is the part which makes the gas and, in time, becomes clogged with carbon. When this happens, the light will become dim or you can get no light at all. First, clean the gas orifice by inserting the cleaning needle (tiny wire pick furnished with Lamp) a couple of times, as instructed in the “Directions for Operating” sheet. If good results are not then obtained, replace the generator with a clean one. Used generators can be cleaned as follows: Remove the Gas Tip using the small tip wrench furnished with each Lamp or Lantern. (If you have no tip wrench, use small pliers with great care.) Remove screen from tip, unroll it and clean thoroughly. Also clean inside of tip thoroughly. Insert cleaning needle into gas orifice to be sure it is open. Then pull the filler out of the bottom of generator and clean off the carbon. Before replacing filler, screen and tip, blow through the generator tube; also tap both ends on the table to remove the loose carbon. CAUTION: Do not use too much force on threads of generator; you might strip them. NEVER ATTEMPT TO USE A GENERATOR WITH STRIPPED THREADS. IMPORTANT: Do not order parts for generators such as tips. screen, filler, etc. These parts are never sold separately because our price on the complete Generator is extremely low. THE AKRON LAMP COMPANY AKRON. OHIO. @hikerduane has shown the same generator (without pricker) here. Cheers Tony
