    Good afternoon dear chat participants!
    Recently I accidentally became the owner of a Butterfly 828 lamp. I would really like to learn how to use it. Could you please share the instructions for this lamp?

    Yes, this is my first kerosene lamp of this type. I have now ordered a filament grid for it.
    I'm starting to work on it. I dream that soon the whole family will be sitting in a big walnut tree in my yard, and the lamp will hang over the table and create light and coziness

    Ok, good for you for wanting to get it going and shine as it was intended :thumbup:

    it’s always best to test for any leaks before filling with fuel and firing up?

    its very common for a lamp that has been unused for even a few yrs for the seals to harden and needing to be replaced.. the leather pump washer cup can often be saved by being soaked in a light machine oil or even olive oil if nothing else is available.

    if the pump can be made to pump air into the tank then it can be tested by pumping air in and immersing into a bucket of water

    please feel free to ask questions at any stage.. we were all beginners too at one time :-)

    good luck :thumbup:

    regards
    pb

    p.s. there is lots of information about startups on the forum here so hopefully you can find lots of help here too by searching
    :-)

    @A.Ashes
    Your pressure lamp does not have a rapid preheater.It cannot be a Butterfly 828; it must be einher the Model 826 or 832.
    @Loe
    The instruction manual you showed belongs to the Anchor 909 or 950. It is not an instruction manual for Butterfly pressure lamps.
