Polished, serviced and painted. Makes a handsome table lamp. I like the bits showing its age and the bits that show that it’s had some love. I tried a 5 inch Vapouriser but that gave a lot of flame above the mantle, a 7 inch was perfect.
It's working well! The 606 vapouriser which you mentioned probably has an enlarged jet, hence the flames.
Yes, it’s adjusted there so there’s no flame. I prefer the 169 to be honest but I will get a 606 if that’s what it would have originally had.

also if you are going to use a shade then a higher or lower gallery may improve things ? sometimes its just what looks or feels right
I’ve got a shade coming. I’m happy with how it’s turned out. It did seem a bit tight for space to preheat under the globe with the 606 so I’ll keep the 7”. It’ll look a picture with a glass shade, even the wife likes it, which is saying something
