Help, these type of lamp are not my area of expertise, Tilley, Vapalux etc no problem but only a few of these have passed through my hands and usually I have passed them on. However this was gifted so has to be a keeper. Problem is it just try's to burn my shed down. Now if it was one of the above mentioned lamps performing like this I would swap the vaporiser, burner etc is there something Im doing wrong, are there any adjustments I'm missing or is the generator knackered. The lamp looks to have had little use, so I suspect a fault from new. Help please Gary
My first assumption would be the nipple isn't sealing in the generator. Make sure the nipple is tight and maybe use some copper or nickel slip on the thread.
Hi I have taken the top off and the hole in the jet is massive and the amount of paraffin that comes out is huge. I can see some rough markings on it but not sure what it refers to. Should there also be a fine needle at the top, as a pricker. Regards Gary
Gary, FYI, the TD mark is a coleman code indicating the nipple is compatible with the generator for 201 and 214 lanterns. It is also supposed to have a 0.006" orifice. Yours appears to be oversized.
