No. 6407 spirit cup. Succeeded the simpler No. 6361 sometime in the late thirties. 1938? It's practically the same cup, just with a few things added.
Christer, I see this is the version with the 2 parts welded together. What about the version which is riveted together, is it much later? I'm asking because I have a new-in-box 1381 from 1943 which came with the riveted version, wrapped in the same type of brown paper. Cheers Trevor
The riveted version was the first of the spirit cups with the shield. It was around from about 1938 to 1947, give or take a year or so. After that they went to the spot welded type. A NIB 1381, you seem to have some very nice old Swedish lamps.
Hi Nils That's good news, so it's probably original to the lamp then. It's ex military and has the 3 crowns stamped on the base. Because the spirit cup is wrapped in brown paper separately inside the box I thought stores had maybe dropped in a later one because it was missing. I'll post a pic of it then in the spares section. I do have some decent Swedish lamps, apart from the war-time Vapalux ones they hold my interest more than anything else... Cheers Trevor
