River Trail Petromax Clone ?

    Just got this today, haven't had chance to play with it yet. As far as I can gather these were sold in Canada by Home Hardware. I am not sure of the time frame these were sold. I saw on another site that these were a Petromax Clone. Does anyone know anything else about these

    Yes, that's what it is and it appears to be of decent quality.

    It will need a clean and a service, but all going well it should make a good working lantern, Jeff.

    Interesting read that may give you some clue as to the lineage of your lantern. Whatever the case, it looks very nice!

    Yes these are Hong Kong made Petromax types made by Santromax. Same guys that make the modern Petromax. As far as I know they were being retailed in the 1990s or possibly a bit later. ::Neil::

    Nice heavy lanterns, Britelyt in Florida has spare parts for that exact clone.

    Some of the Butterfly lantern parts from Survival Supply Canada may also fit, always nice to have a spare globe. Last I looked some Home Hardware stores still had mantles for RT.

    i have one like that and it works very well. it is a model 150.it is quite small and very bright. they still had them in the store about 2 years ago. cheers jim
