i got a wenzel (cheap petro-clone) that i use pretty frequently. ive got a problem with the nipple or jet loosening sometimes from vibration of pumping it. doesnt help that the pumps crap on it anyway. i rubbed a bar of hand soap on the threads and tightened it down, heard that helps. my petromax doesnt have this trouble. would muffler mender be a good choice? im just thinking that it will be hard to get apart again. suggestions?
Hi I had the same problem on a 150 cp Geniol. It starts to burn bad and one day it even lost the jet down in the mantle and the partytent almost went on fire. Not a good comercial for people you would like to join the club. I got so angry that I took a pincing-tool and made a very weak deformation of the coil where to mount the jet. The jet got the right contact and it burns very nice the last 2 years from that little accident. I dont know if your wensel will allow you to do the same, but I find it better than lubricate with stuff there able to fall down the mantle and so on. Claus C
yeah ive had burners fall out too, im talkin about the jet on the end of the vaporizer. im afraid to tighten it to far because i dont wanna strip out the brass
Ah - that little yellow bugger. I have never had that problem. Put the jet in the freezer and screw it on normally, then it can only get bigger and tighter And now you wicklamp-collector - please look at the lamp under non-pressure lamp collectors and tell me if it is an aladdin-lamp Claus C
