Bought a cheap Endoscope/inspection camera at www.conrad.com to be able to inspect lantern tanks inside (and other things), the diameter of the camerahead is to big for Swedish lanterns but i will use a Dremel to get it down a millimeter or two. Camera has poor resolution of 640 x 480 but has two diods in head that makes it possible to se in the dark, camera is connectet to my laptop with usb connection and software to look and capture is included. Good tip. I have actually been thinking that one of those could be a good idea to have. Let us know if you will be successful in grinding down the head of the camera to a suitable diameter.
There is an other shop in Germany www.pollin.de they sell remaining stock and so on. I got an endoscope for 29,- Euro. But they do not have an English language section afaik. Erik

Hallo Eugen, I do not expect much demand for this neat endoscopic gizmo. Whatever you want to see is not always equal to what you need to see, and the fact is these lamps - or stoves - have been repaired in any conceivable way for a 80-100 years without the aid of current technology.
