I bought a job lot of lanterns a while back and was suprised to find this amongst them. According to the label on the collar it's an Akron Model 132-42. I have had a look in the the gallery and on Terry Marsh's site and can't find anything quite like it. I'm wondering if it might be a bitsa. The glass is from a Coleman. The burner is stamped 911 on the top and has ceramic caps. Any thoughts? Cheers, Sid.
The tank, base rest and valve are all Akron. The frame, burner assembly and vent are from a Coleman 220. Nice combination though!!!
Thanks guys, Been trying to get this running over the weekend. All is well apart from the tip is missing from the pricker. Can anyone help to identify the generator. Will I be able to find a replacement? Cheers, Sid.
Hi Sid, Looks like a standard Coleman 220 generator. Probably a T44 from the day but is still commonly availabe as a 220E-5891. Check the gas tip and see if there is a letter "V" stamped in it. Go to Doron's site here if you want to verify the exact dimensions (look under T44). I have a 117A lamp which originally came to me with that exact generator with the fiber packing inside instead of the wire/cardboard. Dan
Many thanks Dan, It does indeed have a 'V' stamped on the tip. I've ordered a new one so should be able to get it up and running soon. Cheers, Sid
