Looks vaguely like a Veritas 350 from here - not sure I've seen one with a red top though, the filler cap/pressure release looks different and there's the nut thingie on top. I think we need some more pictures... Whatever it is, I've got a spare hood for it... Edit:- Is it a Veritas 9955? - has the pricker mechanism just under the burner operated by a long wire through the bottom of the globe cage. Maybe I can see the slot it operates through...
Looks like a Primus to me. They did make them with red hoods e.g. [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/505
Not so strange it looks like a Primus! It must be a Standard from Hövik. Can it be a 102? It should say on the tank.
Definitely a Høvik Verk Standard 102. The later variation as well going by the collar. Looks to be in good condition too.
The Std HV 102 came in today - with the glass broken. Sad because it was the original glass. Is it worth the effords - trying to get hold of a new original glass?
Very unfortunate about the glass. It is the early style of logo as well. I think the chances of finding an original glass would be pretty slim. It might be possible to find the later style which you can see on my HV 102 [url=http://0flo.com/index.php?threads/536
Yes - the seller did not value my precautions good enough. The Schott Suprax globes are avaliable from various sources, but I would appreciate any help and tips reg these 120 x 120mm globes. Haavar
I would expect that the glass should be 122 x 122. These are available from Fogas.se and Hytta.de, that I know of. Probably other suppliers as well.
I have been moderated! Which means I have probably violated some rule. Please notify me the indictment so that I can correct myself. No disrespect
No, I think you just violated common sense. You were asking about a different lamp so you should have started a new thread. Otherwise it just gets confusing...
Hopefully you are right David. Was just trying to save ink..Anyway I would like to propose a discussion about these returning and repeated post. May the site benefit from these being gathered in a single thread? Not uncommon elsewhere.
No worries. No rule was violated! It's just as David says: it was a new lamp, and thus another topic so the post has just been split, and the rest is to be seen here Sorry that you missed that. Out of interest, how do you approach the site first time you log in for the day? Me and many others just simply start with the button on top saying "Recent Posts". That way you hardly miss anything.
Thanks Christer. Recent post is noted. BTW - trying to order a new glass grom Hurricanelamps failed - out of stock. Got a link to the 120x120 glass at Pelam - unavaliable from the meny but searchable. Ordered 2 pcs. Come August - I will try to recreate the HV logo by means of etch-cream and printable schablons. If nothing else - it should qualify as a good fettle.
An update from the Skagerrak Sea. Picked up the shipment from Pelam and wanted to share how they shipped the new glasses. As you will see they did a good job
The beer-can was added as an aid to give a better understanding of the box' size. Although such fluids by some are regarded as a fettling necessity, no alchohol was consumed during this photo-session
