Our Vapalux M1 is experiencing a warm orangey corona around the mantle. Recently it was flaring up, I stripped it down and found the rubber joint at the cock and tank was not in good order, I replaced this with new one sourced from FettleBox (Very Good Service). It seems to have solved the flaring up problem, but this corona is worrying me. I am also getting an incomplete combustion smell. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? Thanks Eoghan
Hello Eoghan and welcome aboard! The most likely cause is that the vapouriser's jet has become enlarged and the only cure is a new vapouriser. I would also check if all of the parts of the burner are properly tightened, do let us know how you get on, Jeff.
Yep, good advice from Jeff. My money would also be on the vapouriser, particularly if it's getting on a bit since it was replaced - they do have a finite lifespan of around 500 hours or so. 'Eoghan' - how on earth do you pronounce that?
Owen is probably closest. A New Vapouriser - ouch. It seems Vapouriser is to Lamp what Hip is to Human. Could I swap a vapouriser from a working M320 to diagnose, or do you get one shot to fit a vapouriser? Thanks
To swap the vap for testing purposes is possible, when it works on one lamp it should do so on the other
If it helps: I've had the same problems with a Vapalux M320 and Bialaddin 320, and today swapped two new vaporisers. Both now function perfectly.
I think I shall be ordering vaporisers on Tuesday, Bank Holiday Wk-end over here. Thanks for all the help guys.
